Thanks to James Grimes for permission to do repaints for his excellent Messerschmitt bf-110C Zestorer. The original model can be downloaded from: Virtual RLM for Combat Flight Simulator 2
Messerschmitt Bf-110, 8/ZG 26, Mediteranean Theater, 1941-42
SB+GD was an aircraft of the 8th Staffel (squadron) of ZestorerGeschwader (destroyer wing) 26, operating in the Mediteranean in 1941-42. The main task of the wing as protecting shipping and air traffic supplying Rommel's Afrika Korps. It is difficult to determine the exact model, though it would appear to be possibly a Me-110D.

SB+GD was probably originally finished in some combination of greys or greens upper surfaces typical for Luftwaffe aircraft operating in the European theaters of operation. From existant color photos of this aircraft, it would appear that it had been repainted in Italian rather than German camouflage colors of sand upper surfaces with light blue-grey lower surfaces. There appears to be a bit of fading, which was conistant with service in this theater, where sun and sand combined to quickly fade paint. It is also obvious that the aircraft has flown many hours, as the exhaust staining from the engines is quite heavy. The code on the fuselage is unusual, and is more in keeping with a factory code. Other aircraft of this Staffel (including 3U+KS, also available here) have codes beginning with "3U", which denotes ZG 26. However, the aircraft does not appear to be in German colors, leading me to believe that it was indeed painted in the field in Italian colors. If anyone has further information please let me know.
**Please Note** This is a beta copy of the textures while I secure additional permissions to include drop tanks and files. I already have James Grimes' permission to offer repaints, but this aircraft was equipped with drop tanks, and the .MDL is not yet patched, so I have to get permission to include a patched .MDL file, as well as drop tanks and etc. Give the skins a whirl, and check back for a more complete "kit" in the next few days.
