A Repaint by Alain Navarro
Fw-190D-9 Red "1" of Oberleutnant Hans Dortenmann, Staffelkapitan of 12/JG 54
Fall 1944

History:
In August, 1944, after two months of operations in France against the Allied invasion forces, III/JG 54 was withdrawn for rest and refit. There was precious little left to rest, as the unit had taken extremely heavy losses. One of the few pilots left was Oberleutnant Hans Dortenmann, now Staffelkapitan of 12/JG 54. III/JG 54 was picked to be the first unit to be equipped with the new Fw 190D-9, and in September of 1944 they received their first Doras. Oblt. Dortenmann claimed works number 210003 as his own, and it soon bore the Red "1" of the Staffelkapitan. Oblt. Dortenmann would fly this plane for the rest of the war, taking it with him to I/JG 26 when III/JG 54 was finally dissolved in late Winter of 1944-45. There it received new colors, becoming Black "1", as Dortenmann was now Staffelkapitan of 3/JG 26. In the last desperate battles of 1945, works number 210003 continued to carry her pilot safely through every combat. On May 5, 1945 came the order for all German forces in Northwest Germany to lay down their arms and surrender to the Allied forces. Oberleutnant Dortenmann, in a final act of defiance, blew up his trusty mount, rather than let her fall into Allied hands.
Alain Navarro made these repaints based upon his own research and information, and so I will not comments on colors and markings.
Thanks to Alain Navarro for providing the textures for this repaint. Any questions or comments can be directed to him at alain.navarro2@wanadoo.fr. If you enjoy them, please be sure to send him a note and tell him that. Thanks!

Copyright Info: This virtual aircraft model is released as freeware, for all to use and enjoy. They may not be used in any commercial package or project, nor may they be sold or altered for any purpose without the express permission of the authors. This is my blood and sweat, if I'm not going to make any money off it, nobody else is either!
I encourage repaints, but if you want to distribute any of my files, please get permission first! No files in the original package can be altered or distributed without permission of the authors.
I do not guarantee that this plane will work on your system. It works on mine, sorry but everyone else has to figure it out for themselves. It was designed using the best information I could find that it would be compatible, and at the very least cause no harm, but I offer no warrantees. Your computer blows up, you are on your own.
This archive contains only model and texture files. Jumo sound package version 1.1 and Dora Cockpit Panel version 1.0 are available as separate downloads for these aircraft. Alternatively, you can either alias them to your favorite CFS2 stock plane, or another Fw 190D already installed on your computer. The .DP file references weapons included in a separate Dora weapons pack version 1.2.
