A Repaint by Alain Navarro
Fw-190D-11 of the Verbandfuhrerschule General der Jagdflieger
(Training School for Unit Leaders)
Spring 1945

History:
Different sources disagree on whether or not the Fw-190 D-11 actually entered production, but the fact remains that several were discovered after the end of the war at Bad Worishofen, apparently assigned to the Verbandfuhrerschule General der Jagdflieger (the Training School for Unit Leaders) which was based there. The werke nummeren (manufacturers numbers) of these aircraft would seem to indicate that production of the Dora 11 had indeed begun, with at least 4 aircraft appearing with numbers in the 220XXX block. The Dora 11 was similar to the D-9, differing only in the fitting of the Jumo 213E engine, which had better altitude performance than the Jumo 213A of the D-9 series, and replacement of the twin 13mm machine guns over the engine with a pair of 30mm MK 108 cannon in the wings, giving the D-11 a much more lethal punch. I have not been able to find anything on the service history of the Dora 11 with the Verbandfuhrerschule General der Jagdflieger. At least of this unit's D-11's ended up with JV 44. This Dora was photographed at Bad Worishofen after the end of the war.
Alain Navarro made these repaints based upon his own research and information, and so I will not comment on colors and markings.
Thanks to Alain Navarro for providing the textures for this repaint. Any questions or comments can be directed to him at alain.navarro2@wanadoo.fr. If you enjoy them, please be sure to send him a note and tell him that. Thanks!

Copyright Info: This virtual aircraft model is released as freeware, for all to use and enjoy. They may not be used in any commercial package or project, nor may they be sold or altered for any purpose without the express permission of the authors. This is my blood and sweat, if I'm not going to make any money off it, nobody else is either!
I encourage repaints, but if you want to distribute any of my files, please get permission first! No files in the original package can be altered or distributed without permission of the authors.
I do not guarantee that this plane will work on your system. It works on mine, sorry but everyone else has to figure it out for themselves. It was designed using the best information I could find that it would be compatible, and at the very least cause no harm, but I offer no warrantees. Your computer blows up, you are on your own.
This archive contains only model and texture files. Jumo sound package version 1.1 and Dora Cockpit Panel version 1.0 are available as separate downloads for these aircraft. Alternatively, you can either alias them to your favorite CFS2 stock plane, or another Fw 190D already installed on your computer. The .DP file references weapons included in a separate Dora weapons pack version 1.2.
