Fw-190D-9 Brown "4" of 7/JG 26
Spring 1945

History:
Toward the end of the war, several Doras in the 500xxx production block received the metal tail surfaces of the Ta 152 series. Two aircraft are so documented, this aircraft, 500647, and 500645. Othwerwise, these aircraft were conventional Dora 9's, with standard markings and armament. This aircraft served with the 7th staffel of JagdGeschwader 26. It was discovered by Canadian troops at Hustedt airfield in mid-April 1945, abandoned by the retreating Germans.
Colors:
The upper surfaces of this aircraft would appear to be the two greens, RLM 82 and RLM 83 on the fuselage, albeit with a slightly higher than normal division between upper and lower surface colors, and a distinct absence of mottling of the upper surface colors down the side of the aircraft. The tail surfaces, manufactured separately from the fuselage, seems to be a slightly darker value, perhaps a darker shade of the undersurface color, or a light application of the lighter of the two upper surface colors. The upper surfaces of the wing would appear to be medium gray (RLM 75) and dark green (RLM 83). The undersurfaces of the wings appear to be partially painted medium gray (RLM 75), carried over from the upper surfaces, with the flying surfaces in light blue (RLM 76) and the rest unfinished (bare metal.) The quality of aluminum used for skinning German aircraft varied considerably. Due to shortages of raw materials and Allied bombing, the aluminum generally contained a larger percentage of impurities than similar Allied materials, and so appeared darker and duller in comparison with the shiny USAAF polished aluminum skinning. The aircraft number "4" is repeated on the landing gear covers, and the black and white Reich Defence bands of JG 26 appear on the rear fuselage.

Copyright Info: This virtual aircraft model is released as freeware, for all to use and enjoy. They may not be used in any commercial package or project, nor may they be sold or altered for any purpose without the express permission of the authors. This is my blood and sweat, if I'm not going to make any money off it, nobody else is either!
I encourage repaints, but if you want to distribute any of my files, please get permission first! No files in the original package can be altered or distributed without permission of the authors.
I do not guarantee that this plane will work on your system. It works on mine, sorry but everyone else has to figure it out for themselves. It was designed using the best information I could find that it would be compatible, and at the very least cause no harm, but I offer no warrantees. Your computer blows up, you are on your own.
This archive contains only model and texture files. Jumo sound package version 1.1 and Dora Cockpit Panel version 1.0 are available as separate downloads for these aircraft. Alternatively, you can either alias them to your favorite CFS2 stock plane, or another Fw 190D already installed on your computer. The .DP file references weapons included in a separate Dora weapons pack version 1.2.
