Background and Notes:

These multi-resolution weapons represent typical ordinance loads for the Fw-190D series of aircraft. This weapons set was specifically built for this visual model, and orient themselves to the visual model without need for adjustment in the .DP file. The following weapons are included in Version 1.2 of the weapons pack:

ETC 504 Weapons Rack This was the standard bomb rack for the "Dora" family of aircraft.

SC250 General Purpose Bomb A good all-around weapon, the SC250 was found on most Luftwaffe airfields. Weight 550 lbs (250kg)

SC500 General Purpose Bomb (Green and Lt Blue) Another good all-around weapon, the SC500 was plentiful at most Luftwaffe airfields. Photos seem to show that this bomb appeared in large numbers in both dark green and lt blue, so I've included one of each. Weight 1100 lbs (500kg)

AB250 Submunition Container An early version of the cluster bomb, the AB250 was typically filled with hundreds of 1- or 2kg bomblets. After release, it would open, dispensing the bomblets either in a tight grouping (dropped at low altitude) or over a wider area (if dropped from a higher altitude.) It was particularly effective against troops and thin-skinned vehicles. Weight 550 lbs (250kg)

AB500 Submunition Container A larger version of the AB250, and just as brutally effective. Weight 1100 lbs (500kg)

SD500 Fragmentation Bomb Most effective against troops and thin-skinned targets. Weight 1100 lbs (500kg)

R4M Unguided Air-to-Air Missile Developed very late in the war, these missiles were designed to be fired in salvos into large bomber formations. A hit from a single missile was usually enough to bring a bomber down. Weight 8.8 lbs (4kg)

300 Liter Drop Tank (early) A variation of the standard Luftwaffe 300 liter (66 gallon) drop tank. Used by early-series Doras.

300 Liter Drop Tank (late)This design was introduced late in the war and was distinctly different from any other Luftwaffe 300 liter (66 gallon) drop tank. Seen on many Doras at the end of the war.

All weapons in the pack are multi-resolution for better framerates. The AB250 and AB500 cluster bomb effects are meant to be representational, as only 16 separate detonations are a result, instead of hundreds. This is due to the limitations of CFS2; if I went over 16, I started to have severe stability issues with the Dora. The cluster bomb effect was achieved by designing the AB500 container, then salvoing it with 16 invisible bombs, so that only 1 bomb is visible, but there are many explosions over a variable area (depending on angle of release, altitude and so on.) I will continue to work to refine this, and hope others will as well.
